Unlike other messaging apps, Layers combines group chat, live location sharing, shared calendars, to-do lists, and real-time translation all in one place. Plus, our mutual contact verification means only people who already know each other can connect — no strangers, no spam, by design.

All chat messages, including voice, image, video, location, and document messages, are end-to-end encrypted. Messages are deleted from our servers once they have been read by the intended recipient(s).

When you sign up, Layers checks your contacts against other users. A connection is only possible if both people have each other's phone number saved in their contacts. This two-way check makes it structurally impossible for strangers to message, call, or even find you on Layers.

Yes! Layers is completely free to download and use. All core features — including messaging, location sharing, calendars, and to-do lists — are available at no cost. We don't run ads and we don't sell your data.

Layers is available on both iOS and Android devices. You can download it from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We're continuously working to bring Layers to more platforms.
